Dr. Cox discusses the Athletic Fees for the 2022-2023 school year.

it's a family trust that you're having a great week cuz I record this our kids are out on mission trips so excited about the after they have to to put into practice just an opportunity to think of others more than they think about themselves to really see the need that exists out in the real world so thank you for partnering with us in that I wanted to reach out briefly discussion we had this year I realized that in order to help overcome our teams one-page summary that summarizes our Athletics budget so I just want to look at that hand out about $600,000 which is what we thought it for athletics this year just under $600,000 laboratory let's say for putting the things we're trying to invest into our kids into practice our kids get to put into high-stress exciting situations and what better place to do that just what we've been preaching to on what you've been tried on the court on the football field on the track and all of those venues Athletics is a great opportunity to disciple kid at Trinity and the vast majority over close to 90% of our kids are actually involved in that place where that money goes to the biggest truck a big part of who we are and how much we have to travel we've also tried to be very possible I purchased a new activity buses are much safer more reliable Vehicles Avenue on the way so we've invested travel for our school make sure that we do it in a safe away as possible you'll see some of the other get the most valuable thing we have our school is our people I have the best quality coaches and teachers as possible so our salaries for teachers going up this year we've increased the coaching staff as well what you also see is that the income from all of the these combined is about $185,000 so cover about 30% of its budget off and get people that ask me what does this is what it covers it goes for the general find for the general expenses for athletics department other mechanisms does your athletic speed not cover well typically your Athletics fee does not cover the mules that your student might have to pay for a while they're traveling it does not cover the banquet for specific it doesn't cover some sports specific maybe apparel and empty water bottles so what we have tried to do this year is varsity team in charge of collecting additional funds from parents and then using those funds to cover some of these mules for specific prayer all the banquet Etc and we've tried to move more toward model where the school has his house has an account where those funds are are placed accountable for those as possible and make sure that it goes directly to what you thought you were covering so try to be more accountable reduce what are ways that we can maybe cover some of the cost for snacks get travel or the mules and so one of the ways we've tried it help alleviate that is by the creation of the booster club our booster club and so we don't have a great feel for exactly how much how much they're going to be able to offset some of those cars but the goal is a booster club grows as it gets concession stands will help be a sorcerer to help cover that additional 70% of Athletics budget that they have that beat doesn't cover so having said that I know that you may have other questions again I apologize our lack of clear communication we first rolled out our fees but ww.w.
